Alice in Coffee

Latte art. It's one of those simple pleasures that makes life much better. (And it also tells me that the cafe cares about its coffee and knows how to steam milk properly.)

  1. It's Kiki's delivery service!

  2. I know Kiki (I love Miyazaki), but the coffee still reminds me more of an illustration of Alice in Wonderland in one of the books I had as a kid. Alice can have big bows too:

    Example 2
    Example 3

Though now I'm realizing that Alice and Kiki have some definite head similarities if you take hair color away.

  3. Miyazaki has based his characters on disney movies. For instance, he says that the Little Mermaid was his inspiration for Ponyo, and they are essentially the same story lines. I'm not sure if he's said anything about alica, but it would make sense.

  4. I'm pretty sure it's Kiki because her hair is short unlike Alice who's hair has always been longer than shoulder length.
